Letter from the Founder

Dear Reader,

Welcome to ColoresCreative.Co! As the Founder and CEO, I am thrilled to have you join us on this journey and excited to share my story with you. CC. has been a dream of mine for a while, and I am so grateful to finally see it come to fruition. In hindsight, I can see how all of my experiences have led me to this moment.

As a proud first-generation Latina (Mexicana through and through 🇲🇽) who grew up in Whiteland, Indiana, I always looked for commonalities in my friends and peers. It made me a great connector, fueling my passion for building strong community relationships.

I was fortunate to have a role model in my mom, who immigrated to the United States and started her own business despite facing challenges and discrimination. Despite the challenges she faced and racism, she never gave up. She persevered and built a successful business that's been going strong for over 15 years. I was inspired by her determination

and entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. My mom's example taught me that anything is possible with determination and the right resources. Her determination and entrepreneurial spirit have always been an inspiration to me.

After graduating from high school, I attended IUPUI. I immersed myself in internships, which led to a diverse range of experiences and careers after graduation. My background includes healthcare marketing, event production, short-term rental design, and development. Currently, I serve as a Board Member of the Latinas Welding Guild and the Indiana Latino Democrats, and I am a graduate of the Indiana Latino Expo's Axis Fellowship.

For the past five years, I have been freelancing on the side, honing my skills and building my network. However, it was in February 2022 that I decided to take the leap and become a full-time freelancer and first-time political campaign manager. As a woman of color, I have experienced firsthand the microaggressions and discrimination that come with working in America. I knew that I had to take action to change and get out and work for myself.

The success I experienced in my work and the support from my community inspired me to launch ColoresCreative.Co in January 2023. Our mission is to support and empower women reach their highest potential through online marketing, community outreach, and creative project management.

I am driven by the desire to have autonomy over my schedule (ehm, cycle syncing!), positively impact my community, and create a more inclusive and equitable space for women. I am grateful for your support and can't wait to see the amazing things we will accomplish together. Thank you for subscribing and following our journey. Let's grow together.

With love,

Leslie Salazar
